Why Should I Buy Glasses From My Optometrist?

When it comes time to get a new prescription, you have a few choices. While online stores offer convenience, buying glasses directly from your optometrist provides benefits that go beyond a simple purchase. It’s an investment in your visual health and comfort, supported by the professional guidance you receive during a comprehensive eye exam.

Buying glasses from your optometrist is an investment in your vision, comfort, and long-term satisfaction. It connects your prescription to a personalized fitting and high-quality materials, all in one place.

Get The Right Fit & Accurate Measurements

The correct prescription is only half the story. How your lenses are placed in the frame is just as important for clear vision.

Why Professional Measurements Matter

Opticians take several measurements, like your pupillary distance and optical center height, in order to help your glasses fit right. These numbers tell the lab exactly where to place the visual center of your lenses.

When your lenses are aligned correctly, you get the sharpest possible vision. This is especially important for complex lens designs like progressives.

The Problem With At-Home Measurements

Trying to measure your own pupillary distance with a ruler and a mirror can lead to errors. Even a small mistake can cause eye strain, headaches, or blurry vision. Your optometrist’s office uses precise tools to get these measurements right.

Hands-On Adjustments For Comfort

Once your glasses are ready, an optician will adjust them to fit your face perfectly. They can shape the arms and nose pads so your glasses don’t slip, pinch, or feel crooked. This personalized fitting helps your new glasses feel comfortable all day long.

Find Higher Quality Frames & Lenses

The materials used to make your glasses have a big impact on how long they last and how they feel. Optometrists often select frames and lenses with durability and performance in mind.

Independent Frame Lines You Won’t See Everywhere

We carry independent frame lines made from materials like high-grade acetate and lightweight titanium. You can feel the difference in these carefully selected frames.

Frames Built To Last

You can often see the quality in the details, like sturdy hinges that help the frames hold their shape. Many of our frames are handmade in the US or Japan, with a focus on durability.

Lens Technology For Your Lifestyle

We can also recommend lens materials and coatings for your daily activities. Whether you need scratch-resistant coatings for a busy lifestyle or lenses that reduce glare from screens, we can find options that suit your needs.

A Style & Fit For Every Face

Trying on frames in person is the only way to know for sure how they’ll look and feel.

Expert Style Advice

Opticians are trained to help you find frames that complement your face shape and features. They can suggest styles and colors you might not have picked on your own. Their guidance can help you find a look that fits your personality.

A Diverse Selection Of Modern Styles

We work closely with our frame lines to carry a wide variety of up-to-date styles. This gives you a broad selection of colors and shapes to choose from. Our experience also means that we can find a frame that complements almost any face.

Fits For Low Nose Bridges

Some people find that standard frames tend to slide down their nose or rest on their cheeks. We carry frames designed with built-up nose pads for those with a low nose bridge. This thoughtful design helps the glasses stay in place for a comfortable, secure fit.

Unpack The Value Beyond The Price Tag

Cost is an important factor, but the initial price doesn’t tell the whole story. Buying from an optometrist often includes services and assurances that add significant value.

What’s Included in the Cost

The price you pay at an optometrist’s office typically covers more than just the glasses. It also includes expert fitting, adjustments, and follow-up care. This level of service is a cornerstone of our practice philosophy.

Use Your Vision Insurance Benefits

We can help you understand and use your vision insurance plan. This simplifies the process and helps you get the most from your coverage.

You Get What You Pay For

An investment in a well-made pair of glasses from your optometrist can result in better vision and comfort. Quality materials and a professional fit contribute to glasses that are more durable over time.

Receive Ongoing Support & Care

When you buy glasses from your optometrist, you’re starting a relationship. We’re here to provide you long after your purchase.

Free Adjustments & Minor Repairs

If your glasses become loose or bent, you can simply visit your optometrist for an adjustment. They can also handle small repairs like replacing a lost screw. This ongoing service saves you time and hassle.

A Trusted Partner In Your Vision Health

Your eye doctor understands your full vision history, which is built over years of regular adult and senior eye exams. This allows them to recommend eyewear solutions that are consistent with your overall eye health.

Support A Local Business

Choosing to buy from a local optometrist also means you’re supporting a small business in your community. These practices are often owned by people who live and work right in your area. You’re investing in your neighbors and your local economy. At Bright Eyes Optometry, our goal is to help you achieve your vision goals, one exam at a time. We take the time to understand your needs and find solutions that work for you. Stop by to see our frame selection or schedule an appointment with us today.
